A Nice Commercial Christmas

We here at Plugged In like to bring you thoughtful or entertaining online tidbits from time to time. We’ve shared some compelling family focused commercials on occasion, too. And, well, it turns out that IKEA offers up all-of-the-above in two different Christmas commercials it produced for its various markets around the world.

Now, the first one, from IKEA Singapore, is a completely silly and sweet well-wish to family and friends. And it does sorta sell IKEA stuff while it’s at it.

The second one, from IKEA Spain, bypasses the selling altogether and focuses on an experiment with 10 real families. “What do kids want for Christmas?” it asks. Interestingly, though, it actually asks hustling and bustling, present-gathering parents to consider what gifts are of the most value to their young ones.  The results are well worth seeing, even if you haven’t brushed up on your Spanish lately. Enjoy.
