Behind the Scenes of the Plugged In Movie Awards

What is the big deal with those Plugged In Movie Awards?

What qualifications does Plugged In look for in nominees? How do a film’s content issues factor in? When is a film’s quality considered? Why is that movie in that category instead of this one? How come my favorite movie missed making any of the lists?

I used to ponder these very questions every year. A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I would eagerly await the Plugged In nominees and the opportunity to add my voice to the mix. To talk about what was right and wrong with the lists, and advocate for my favorites—whether or not they were on Plugged In’s own lists.

Now that I have had the opportunity to get a peek behind the curtain, I knew I had to tell the world what I had found. The world has the right to know—you have the right to know!—what it takes for the team to put together the Plugged In Movie Awards.

Who wrote this?

Jake Roberson is Plugged In’s social media manager and strategist. He’s the father of four children and husband of one wife, and he quite likes life that way. He also likes writing about entertainment, pop culture, dadhood … and food. He’s also a former Guinness World Record holder for participating in the largest hacky sack circle. Our family watched "Old Fashioned" recently.  It took our breath away.  Wow.  Good movie.

I'd like to see a tri-cornered in support of "Beyond the Mask."  My brother and I saw it; it could have been better, but it was fun.

"Inside Out" deserves the win.

Jake, as Captain America once told Tony Stark, "put on the suit."

Calling my tailor now. (And when I say "calling my tailor," I may or may not mean "going to a thrift store.") =D

That explained a lot for me because I was wandering why some other movies didn't make it up there but I do think ant-man was pretty good even though Paul said it was more harsh than some other superheroes. I thought the relationships between the fathers and daughters in it were pretty moving and I think that ant-man was really funny too . I didn't vote for the adult movies because I haven't seen  any of them and I don't really care to , which kinda makes sense because I am a teenager ( well I guess you don't have to be an adult see them ) and inside out is an amazing movie and I loved war room . So I think that you guys did pretty good with the nominations.   And yes  Jake , I would like to see you in a tux
