It’s seems like forever and an age ago that we actually got excited about blockbuster, tent-pole movies in theaters. But this week, it feels a bit like “old times.” Or, seven months ago, if you prefer.
Director Christopher Nolan’s truly mind-bending thriller/actioner/caper/war flick Tenet arrives in theaters this weekend. In some places early screenings are already available to the public, which Paul and I both had a chance to take advantage of on Monday night.
I’ve seen movies with byzantine, intricate, hard-to-follow plots before. But this one? Tenet might take the prize. It’s also a high-energy thriller that never relents. So even if the quantum physics, time-travel plot feels impossible to track, you still know who the good guy is, who the bad guy is, and what the stakes are.
Paul and I sat down to talk about that earlier this week. We kicked around what works, what we have questions about, what the big themes are and what families need to know about Tenet.
If you’ve seen Tenet, by all means share your thoughts. Or just chime in on Paul’s and my back-and-forth conversation. Be sure to check out Paul’s full review of Nolan’s cranium-twizzler, too!
