Movie Monday: Unstoppable Megamind

unstoppable.JPGYou can’t keep a good supervillain down. DreamWorks’ animated Megamind stopped a runaway train in its tracks to claim the box office crown for the second week in a row, sequestering more than $30 million en route, according to boxofficemojo.com.

Unstoppable, Denzel Washington’s newest cinematic vehicle, still cleared the weekend with a good head of steam, earning $23.5 million for second. It was the first of three newcomers to make the weekend top five: Skyline, the low-budget, low-IQ sci-fi thriller made its money back with an $11.7 million haul (it finished fourth, just behind holdover Due Date), while Morning Glory staggered to fifth with a disappointing $9.6 million. Clearly, moviegoers are just not Morning people.

The only film I’ve seen on the list is Skyline, and that’s because my editor made me see it. Clearly, I must’ve done something to anger him. Did any of y’all do any better? And if so, what did you think?
