Avengers Infinity War

In our newest vodcast, I ask Paul Asay about what someone needs to know before going to see the most anticipated film of the year: Avengers: Infinity War! If you’re like me, you may need to figure out the placement of all the characters and their role in this film. But if you’re a nerd, like Paul, you already know every detail ever mentioned. So, if you have any thoughts or comments please let us know!

Who wrote this?

Kristin Smith is the most recent addition to the Plugged In team. Formerly a Spanish and English teacher, Kristin loves reading literature and eating authentic Mexican tacos. When she's not writing or editing, she enjoys traveling the world with her husband, Eddy, and running through Colorado Springs’ Garden of the Gods. She loves coffee, music, her dog (Cali) and cat (Aslan), and is eagerly awaiting the birth of her first baby, Judah.

I'm surprised Paul didn't get into how difficult this movie is to watch like in his review, but it was only a 5 minute Q&A podcast. I'm only a couple years younger than Paul but despite knowing about the Infinity Gems comics and where the ending was most likely headed, it was kind of disturbing. I keep hearing stories about how children were crying at the end of the movie. While there were only adults around me when I watched it, the hush over the crowd and gasps spoke volumes. Yes, the sequel will probably undo most of the damage but a year is a long time to wait for a satisfying conclusion.

What you need to know is that this is ABSOLUTELY NOT a movie for kids!!!  The title should be taken very seriously; this movie is perhaps the most dramatic of the MCU films so far!

I can't believe Dwayne Johnson teamed up with Bob and Larry to pilot the Gurren Lagann to stop Thanos from killing Lightning McQueen! And then the Toa Mata attend Batman's funeral after Donald Trump fails to use his new Power Ranger team consisting of former US presidents to save him!

One thing everyone should absolutely know is that Thanos is actually a ripoff of Darksied.

Marvel and DC ripped each other off all the time. Aquaman is a ripoff of Namor the Submariner and Deadpool is a ripoff of Deathstroke. There are many more examples of both companies copying each other. It's just something that happened a lot when those comics were popular.
